Rehabilitació. The MUHBA Oliva Artés regains part of its heritage and extends its facilities with a new exhibition space, a multi-purpose hall and a bar.
The renovation includes the creation of a workshop area on the mezzanine floor, a multi-purpose hall, a bar and an open entrance portico in the Parc del Centre del Poblenou, on the ground floor. The renovation allows for more exhibitions, lectures and seminars by the museum. The project involves an investment of 2.3 million euros, with work due to start in the second half of June and last ten months.
The extension to the Oliva Artés is part of the project to renovate the historical and architectural heritage of Poblenou. The old industrial building was transformed in 2015, its basilical layout being turned into a series of open-plan areas narrating the history of the contemporary metropolis.
The incorporation of heritage sites into practical neighbourhood facilities involves participation from local associations and entities in museum projects.
